Double Whammy Review! Immortal Matchmakers, Inc & Fugly by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

I seem to be reading Mimi Jean back to back lately.  She just keeps popping stuff out and I hope she never stops!  I read Immortal Matchmakers, Inc earlier this week and finished Fugly last night.

Immortal Matchmakers, Inc

Immortal Matchmakers is about a Demigod named Andrus that is huge muscular and self obsessed douche bag.  He has been around for so long and so set in his ways when it comes to courting women.  He is given a second chance at love and Sadie is attempting to teach him how to be more lovable.  He only has a short window to train before he is set to meet his mate.

His trainer Sadie feels an undeniable pull to Andrus, but knows nothing can come about it.  This book will keep you guessing until the end and then whammo! I would have never guessed what was really going on, haha.  Nice surprise twist.  I really like this book and the fact that I actually guessed wrong on what was going to happen.

Fugly

The story behind the story in this book is one that all women and girls should read.  Life is not about being ugly or beautiful; it is about reaching for your goals and staying true to yourself.

Lily Snow had never been known as beautiful or sexy.  She was the funny, smart, witty girl with a dirty mouth.  Maxwell Cole has grown up needing to have perfection in his life.  In walks Lily with her perfect body and fugly face.  Cole is thrown off is game.

This is a heart warming read.  There are so many women in our society that are judged on looks alone.  I love the fact that even though Lily was continually knocked down she always held her head high.  She would make a great role model in this day and age.

I was really hoping for an epilogue in this book I felt the need to know how the story continued.  I do however feel satisfied with the ending.  I had been looking to read this book for months, and I was not disappointed.

**Mimi has a comic style to her writing that keeps me interested.  Her books also have real story lines versus sex on every page (not that it is always a bad thing.)   I have been reading everything she writes as soon as I can get my grubby little hands on it.  King Trilogy made me a die hard fan. **

Tell Me Why by Nessie Wallace

I have been chatting with Nessie on Facebook for the last few weeks and let me say that she is awesome.  Mom, Grandma and Author; this lady does it all!

When she and I first started chatting she kept telling me how different her story was from the traditional boy meets girl, insta-love stories.  I have read so many I didn't think it would actually be different. (Sorry Ness!)

I was soooo sooo wrong.  I literally messaged her every chapter because my emotions were on a wild roller-coaster.  Laughing, crying, worry; you name it I felt it.

Every character stole my heart and I cannot wait to see the rest of the stories she puts out with the crew.

Jenna is a 17yr old that meets tragedy, turmoil and hardship.  Bryson is in college and acts like a bastard (excuse my language).  The circumstances and story is original and I was really sad to finish the book.

I am giving away 3 copies because, this story deserves to be shared.

Under the Moonlight (A Mermaid's Tale) by Ashley Nemer

I grew up loving Ariel from The Little Mermaid.  She had red hair like I did and I connected to her.  I have had a loved of mermaids ever since.  When Ashley Nemer offered me the chance to read her book Under the Moonlight, I was ecstatic!  Also, the cover is absolutely gorgeous.

The book features a twist on the history of the Greek Gods (Another of my favorite topics!).  Zara is the daughter of King Triton and her uncle is Poseidon.  On her 22nd birthday she will be forced to make a choice between going on land for love or staying a mermaid.  This story is not your typical fairy tale.  There are some twists and turns and ohh and ahhs.

I will let it slip that this book does contain a HEA ending, which made my heart smile so largely.  Ashley is a great writer with one hell of an imagination.  This was a heartfelt story.

I will be starting another of her books very soon; Blood Purple.  The synopsis had me ready to start it right now!  Too bad I have to adult today, haha!

Meanwhile here are the links for Under the Moonlight.

Billionaire with a Twist (book1) by Lila Monroe

So I won a copy of this book from the lovely Lila Monroe on Facebook.  I had yet to read anything she had written so I went into this book completely blind.  After my last read, I needed a book that would make me laugh and feel good.  This was definitely it.

Ally works for an ad company and Hunter Knox owns the Bourbon company needing some new advertisement.. Their relationship is strictly professional.  LOL!  We all know how that goes when you have two sexy characters.  Ally is all about making her own way though and stops anything before it has a chance to start, and she is hurting because of her choice.  This book has a cliffhanger that will make your jaw drop!

This is a 3 part series, and book two comes out on September 18, 2015.  I can't wait!  I need to know what happens next.  Lila is hilarious and her word choices had me cracking up.

I <3 my billionaires!

The Lost (A Crow City Novel) by Cole McCade

I am not even sure where to begin with this review.  This was one of the hardest books I have ever read and also a book that will stick with me forever.  I typically avoid any book that will cut me to the core just to avoid any true emotion.  Most readers use books to get away and as an outlet to live in their imaginations away from the hustle of everyday life.

Cole McCade wrote The Lost from the perspective of Leigh.  She is a young woman that ran away from the monotony of everyday life.  She gave up her family, husband and son to live on the streets and feel as though she was really living.  She is not as broken as she feels.  She is a survivor.  .  Enter Gary & Gabriel.  Both men also “broken survivors” and both have heart wrenching stories.  They are all facing demons that no one should have to face.  I cannot explain more than that or I would be spoiling the book

This story is not heart-warming and sappy.  This is a book that is in your face, honest and real.  I had to take time to process my feelings before sitting down to write this review.  Another reader recommended I read a “fluff” book to help get over the book hangover.  I will definitely need it.
This book comes from a dark taboo place that hits on real issues; but the book is beyond special.  My heart strings were constantly pulled, I was on my toes and I cried painful tears as well as happy tears.

If I could give this book 6 stars I would be more than happy to do so.  The literary skill that Cole McCade has is out of this world.  He is able to describe situations in vivid detail.  Two thumbs up my friend!

Her Stepbrothers' Demands by Trinity Blacio

Her Stepbrothers' demands completely threw me off guard.  I almost expected not to like this story just because the description seemed cheesy. (my apologies to the author!)

The characters had a lot of depth and their backstories were sounds.  The nightmare man character took me by surprise as well.  I wasn't expecting that turn out.

Overall this was a quick read, but well worth my time.  The sex was oh so hot and the wolves oh so yummy!

Also, the excerpt for her other book look frighteningly delicious as well! (Check it out at the end!)

This was a book sent to me by NetGalley for an honest review.  (I <3 NetGalley)

Her Stepbrothers' Demands by Trinity Blacio

Description:
When her mother agrees to be transformed into a werewolf to join her mate, Jasmine feels abandoned and alone, and does the only thing she can do; she tries to leave.

The fact that the man she had considered her real father’ isn’t human, but an actual werewolf, just proved that there were other beings, not human, in this world. It made her remember that her real father (who had abused her as a child), had given her to the Nightmare Man that one night (a secret she had kept hidden from all, until now).

But now that she learns that in addition to having a werewolf for a mother, she has two were-cowboy stepbrothers (who are too hot to handle), it’s almost too much to take. They were the dark cowboys of her dreams as a teenager…..  Can she give in to her were-cowboy stepbrothers’ demands?

Exhibition by Nicolette Hugo

Grace Cantrell is a self-destructive exhibitionist uncomfortable in her own skin. Jason Wright is a fine-art photographer living life from behind his lens.
When Grace agrees to be the centerpiece for Jason's next gallery show, she unlocks his creative muse and dark sexual cravings. As Grace and Jason come together in a fusion of passion and art, they find themselves slowly breaking out of their carefully constructed cages, forcing Grace to confront her the ghosts of her past.
As Jason captures what he most wants on film, can he capture it in real life? And can Grace risk exposing more than just her skin?

Wrong Number, Right Guy by Elle Casey

Hi Everyone!   I was up until 3AM because I just could not put this book down! The main character May is hysterically funny. Her antics along with her little dog Felix kept me laughing. The connection between May and Ozzie is sizzling to say the least. When the heat finally unfolds, you will be left panting for more. Elle Casey went above and beyond with this book. I had never previously read any of her works, but I will again forever more.
Fans of Debra Anastasia would definitely love this book!

My only downfall in this book was the lack of description of the main characters. I feel like I had to conjure up an image based on the vague descriptions of all with the exception of Dev.

Overall this story line was new and very impressive.
